[PLUG] linux certification

Is there any value in linux certifications?
The hot distro seems ever changing, with perhaps revisions every 6 months.
There appears to be a generalist cert (LPI exams)
I have found excellent tutorials on the IBM developerworks site
written by a familiar name, daniel robbins.
Any comments?
