I've probably called Verizon 6 times in the past year and got no confused people when I mentioned running Linux. Probably twice, the rep was actually conversant, but the other times, they assumed that I knew the commands, but they did the diagnostics on their end without complaint. When calling support, you are asked "Press 1, for Windows, Press 2, for Macintosh, and Press 3, for another operating system". I always press 3. BTW, I have the Westell Wirespeed modem, using rp-pppoe on Ubuntu Hoary, with IP Masq instead of a hardware router, and everything works fine. -- _______________________________________ Art Alexion Arthur S.
