[PLUG] yast/perl error (going from 9.2 to 9.3)

I've tried to update my SUSE 9.2 software to 9.3. It appreared to have
upgraded successfully, but now I get the following errors:

when I run yast:
Error loading language plugin
/usr/lib/YaST2/plugin/libpy2lang_perl.so: libperl.so: cannot open
shared object file: No such file or directory

Suse 9.2 uses perl 5.8.5 while Suse 9.3 uses 5.8.6.
when I either run:
export LD_LIBRARY_PATH=$LD_LIBRARY_PATH:/usr/lib/perl5/5.8.6/i586-linux-thread-multi/CORE/
or use an ldconfig I receive this error when I try to run yast:

Error loading language plugin
/usr/lib/YaST2/plugin/libpy2lang_perl.so: /usr/lib/liby2pm.so.2:
undefined symbol: _ZN8LangCode9_nameHashE

Any advice would be appreciated.
