Well, I've used the install CD from another system I have to restore to a different desktop, it installed just fine. also used that same one to restore XP to a DELL laptop and it worked fine (except it didn't load all that DELL crap). In each of those cases, however, I used the License that was for each of the respective computers. You might have a Microsoft issue if you re-install on another system, the activation key might not work... Question about the XP that came with the laptop: Does it only install on your laptop? Or, if you are not running it on the laptop, could you install it on a PC? ___________________________________________________________________________ Philadelphia Linux Users Group -- http://www.phillylinux.org Announcements - http://lists.phillylinux.org/mailman/listinfo/plug-announce General Discussion -- http://lists.phillylinux.org/mailman/listinfo/plug ___________________________________________________________________________ Philadelphia Linux Users Group -- http://www.phillylinux.org Announcements - http://lists.phillylinux.org/mailman/listinfo/plug-announce General Discussion -- http://lists.phillylinux.org/mailman/listinfo/plug
