[PLUG] OT: Digital Cable (comcast) Jitter

Sorry to go off-topic, but I have a problem that may be technical and may 
be local, and this is the easiest place to find local tech help <grin>

I'm getting jitter on some but not all channels. Broadcast stations get it 
bad, making CNN useless <insert optional "more" here>.  Encore, Flix, 
Turner Classics are untouched.

Comcast has reset my cable box remotely, and that hasn't helped.

I don't think it's a problem with the set.  For one thing, it's a combo 
VCR/DVD unit, and those play well.  For another, it's not consistent among 
channels.

So I'm guessing it is either a problem with the local carrier, a problem 
with the box, or (least likely) a problem with the coaxial connection.

Can anyone advise me on what I can do at my end to fix or pin down the 
problem?
