[PLUG] mysql 4.x vs 5.x NULL values

I downgraded my mysql server from version 5 to a 4.x version. Before
doing the downgrade, I exported all of my databases. Now, when I try to
import them again, I get errors. The import seems to fail on any insert
statement that has a null value. In nano, the null value appears as a
dot with a curl on top. In jed, it appears as <20>. Does anybody know
what to do here?
