Ok, good to know.  I've been using Debian Sarge so any recent KDE 
version seems "new" to me.

I'm glad you said that, I was beginning to think it was ME, with all the 
positive press (k)ubuntu generates.  I am thinking about trying Kanotix, 
which is basically Knoppix but optimized for HD install rather than just 
as a liveCD.
