I should have said SDTV.  HDTV AFAIK is ATSC which is not the same
thing as NTSC.

This answer depends on whether you are recording HD over the air and
if you have a decent progressive scan SDTV, 480p.  BTW the cut-off
date, February 17, 2009, is not too far off.  Do you plan on junking
those new cards in two years?  I have no clue what the cable companies
are up to with regards to the cutoff, so I can't speak to that.  From
the way I see it, if you plan on using cable for all your TV needs,
just get the stock cable provided DVR and be happy.
