[PLUG] OT: Alternate Ink Cartridges

Has anyone used higher capacity ink cartridges than was specified for a 
printer?  Specifically...

HP F380 all-in-one printer

HP 21 and HP 22 cartridges specified

I read that HP 27 and HP 56 cartridges are identical to the HP 21, 
except that they hold more ink.  Same for the HP 28 and HP 57 compared 
to the HP 22.

For example, the HP 21 yields 150 pages, HP 27 / 220 pages, and the HP 
56 / 450 pages.

Would the printer be able to detect the difference, other than the 
weight of the ink?
