There's a link on that page to a bug report.  In short:  The error looks almost exactly like yours.  Apparently, this person could only burn dual layer as root.

k9copy documentation seems non-existent.

When I use it "intuitively" the "copy" button does nothing.  No error,
nothing.

I am not married to k3b/k9copy if there are any other suggestions.
