I'm can't remember why, but apparently the FTP mirrors have been causing 
trouble for quite some time.  Try using:

deb http://ftp.us.debian.org/debian/ unstable main non-free contrib
deb-src http://ftp.us.debian.org/debian/ unstable main non-free contrib
deb http://security.debian.org/ stable/updates main contrib non-free
