I've used Screem (http://www.screem.org/). At times it can be slow, but other than that, it suites me quite well for HTML/PHP editing.

Sorry I couldn't resist. It was easy to resist the recent thread but I couldn't resist to answer this... Honestly the only recent html editor I've tried recently was dreamweaver on windows which has come a long way since the last time
I looked at one... Hopefully someone can give you some usefull advice.
