Yes, your brain will continue to use if you use VMWare Player from outside of the repositories... The good news is that it should show up in the commercial repository soon after Gutsy goes live. The version in commercial is kept in sync with the kernel releases.

Not my area, but I wouldn't think it would take much, unless you are really grinding away at some of those systems.
