it looks like it can totally handle virtualization. and if you ask me, that'd be the way i'd go- it's a much better recovery rate from crashes, etc. in the case of failure. instead of one server going down and taking all of the services with it, you can virtualize and if the server(s) go down, just restart XEN- no need to restart the host machine itself (unless, of course, it itself gets compromised. then you're boned.) just don't go hosting 600 users at once on this thing or anything like that. haha (you will, however, totally want a separate box completely dedicated to asterisk. trust me.)
