We have a couple of N-computing's xtenda systems running here at work.
The only negative thing I can say about them is that certain dell
monitors (CRT) do not work. I believe the one model number is E551. They
were included with Optiplex GX260's.
The only time I ever got the system (2.4ghz core2duo blah blah) to lag
was when I was streaming 720p videos on each of them.
Of course these are used in a windows environment : /

Their latest is a tiny box that fits on the back of a flat panel (if
they can't see it, they can't steal it). I'm not a gamer, so I'm not
sure what you're looking for specifically, in terms of display. In
terms of resolution, I recall 800x600 and 1024x768, with 3 different
color depths.

I believe the going rate is close to $300 per box for their top line
unit. Shouldn't be difficult to find it cheaper.
They have PS2 ports for mouse and kbd, spkr out, and the higher line
ones have a USB port. Flash drives are supported but most things seem
to work.
If anyone has any specific questions, please ask. I have a few of them
at work, in a classroom environment. We have used them with XP and
W2003. I know they've been tested with a number of linuxes,
specifically Ubuntu, but we haven't tried it yet. They've also had
success under VMware. They're not perfect, but they're a decent
solution.
Their claim is that you can run up to 10 terminals under XP and up to 30
under one of the Win servers. We're running a 10 person classroom off a
new dual-core Dell system with XP. It ran with 1g of RAM but we put in
3g. Should require less under lin.
