[PLUG] Fw: X-Win32 V9: The Ultimate PC X Server!

I know people have talked about wanting to be able to do this. If you still have a Drexel account you can get it for free.

Brian Vagnoni

Dear Mr. Brian Vagnoni,

StarNet is pleased to present our next-generation PC X server: "X-Win32 LIVE Edition" (Version 9).

Besides a number of bug fixes, Version 9 offers new "LIVE" sessions. As the name implies, LIVE sessions do not die when your PC loses its connection with the host due to a Windows, power or network problem. You simply reconnect. You can also manually suspend sessions (they keep running in the background on the host) and resume them later, even from a different machine. And for the first time, LIVE sessions let you display a full remote Unix or Linux desktop and work at LAN-like speed over relatively slow Internet connections.

X-Win32 LIVE will be launched officially at SuperComputing 2007 in Reno (Nevada) on November 11. But existing customers can upgrade to X-Win32 LIVE now.

Through December 31 you can upgrade your license at a 25% discount over regular upgrade pricing!

Optionally you can also add X-Win32 LIVE pre-installed on 128MB Flash USB drives for just $99 per drive, including maintenance and shipping. Basically you are paying for the drive, shipping and handling. Regularly we sell these for $330! The $99 offer is limited to the number of X-Win32 licenses you own. (see below end user scenario on how you can improve your productivity using the Flash drive).

( ) Also send a quote for adding X-Win32 LIVE pre-installed on a Flash drive.

With X-Win32 LIVE we have created the ultimate PC X server. Version 9 can literally change the way people work and become more productive. Here is a LIVE scenario that has never been possible before:

· An IC design engineer uses the Flash version of X-Win32 LIVE. From the USB key he runs a LIVE session and boots an EDA tool to run a 12-hour IC simulation.
· When the simulation starts, he suspends the session so it can run in the background on the Linux server. This frees up space on his desktop for other tasks and reduces the load on the company's network.
· When he goes home for the evening, the engineer shuts down the PC, puts the USB key in his pocket.
· At home, he plugs the USB key into his personal laptop connected to the Internet via wireless DSL. From his poolside lounge chair he starts X-Win32 and resumes the session to check on the progress of the session and make some modifications to the simulation.
· Suddenly, the X session disappears from the Windows desktop. Turns out his 2-year-old son unplugged the DSL router power cable. Strangely, there are no primal screams, no cursing. The LIVE server automatically assumed the "suspend mode" when the connection to the PC was severed. The engineer simply plugs the cable back in the wall, restarts X-Win32, resumes the session and suspends it when finished modifying the simulation.
· The next morning, the engineer drives to an engineering meeting at a customer site, plugs the USB key into the customer's laptop hooked up to the conference room projector, and resumes the session to show and review the results of the simulation.

By upgrading you too can also enjoy the flexibility, stability and mobility of LIVEsessions.

I look forward to hearing back from you on your upgrade request.
