Re: [PLUG] OT OSX Leopard v10.5

As a member of the Apple Developer Connection, I've had access to various distros of the .iso for months now. The fact that it's on USENET shouldn't send anyone running to download that buggy piece of crap. The Golden Master release would have been available sooner if Apple wasn't so busy supporting iPhone owners' need to sync iTunes with their phone.

For those who actually care, 10.5 Leopard doesn't have very many enhancements that make it worth purchasing, at least that I've seen thus far. One plus is that the Ruby SDK comes built in, from what I understand. One minus, that I've personally encountered, is that previous .iso builds do not properly retain proxy configurations entered into the System Preferences. That makes production-level usage of it impossible for me. For those of you who may work in graphic design or work with designers, you may want to hold off deploying it, especially if you're working with Adobe CS3. Apparently CS3, at one point, took the initiative to disable your OSX firewall:

Based on the cavalier attitude of Adobe staff towards upcoming releases of Apple OSX, I wouldn't be rushing to install it in a production environment, period:

And for those of you who wrestle with the moral dilemma of pirating software, the risks involved (from both the angle of security and legality), and whether or not the RIAA is directly involved, meet the MediaDefender crew and their bungling efforts (in conjunction with the FBI) to quash the torrent community:

I can neither confirm nor deny using USENET, ahhh, ahhh, a friend told me; yeah that's the ticket :)
