i just want to second Promise.
their documentation is horrible (it's as if they had 6-year-old korean-native children transcribe into english, back into korean, then into latin, then into english again), and their website is quite barebones (last i visited anyways) but their products are wonderful. i got an IDE PCI card and i've never had any problems and it's hella fast (and supports hw-RAID! which isn't really TRUE hardware-RAID, but it's more hardware than software-raid..)
