You don't need to update it all that often. Then when you need a package name for a file: [michael@orion(~)] zgrep unicode/uchar.h Contents-i386.gz usr/include/unicode/uchar.h libdevel/libicu36-dev Both Debian and Ubuntu have package database websites that offer a search by filename method as well. <http://packages.ubuntu.com/> and <http://www.debian.org/distrib/packages> (redirects from packages.d.o) - -- Michael Greb Linode.com, LLC -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.4.7 (Darwin) Comment: Using GnuPG with Mozilla - http://enigmail.mozdev.org iD8DBQFHRIPM0Qbp4bPZvesRAsYnAJ93O1uoqGxnx4Lpgr5H084buEJFEACfUiHf b2xhHsM4DH5bLBfPoYWp5UA= =7NFL -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- ___________________________________________________________________________ Philadelphia Linux Users Group -- http://www.phillylinux.org Announcements - http://lists.phillylinux.org/mailman/listinfo/plug-announce General Discussion -- http://lists.phillylinux.org/mailman/listinfo/plug
