I was told that the person fell and the laptop landed flat on either the top or bottom. No way to know which. My son dropped his old Nintendo GBA SP and it doesn't light up now either. I had just replaced the motherboard! Well, the LCD was usually dim to begin with. I think it was brighter with the original motherboard. I might check into a backlight for that as well, but maybe not. We have Nintendo DS'es now. heh Brent Saner <brent.saner@gmail.com> wrote: i've done a fair bit of laptop hw repair. i'd (carefully) pry your top half of the laptop apart (the screen part. you'll need a set of jeweler's/circuitry's screwdrivers to do this, the screws are quite tiny).
