$ debootstrap --variant=minbase sid ./
... blah blah blah ...
$ du -hs
95M     .
$ rm /var/lib/apt/lists/*
$ du -hs
72M     .
$ rm -r /usr/share/doc /usr/share/locale /usr/share/man
$ du -hs
41M     .

You could reduce it further, but that would just be silliness.
