I've been thinking & reading about it and according to Tyan each bank is sort of dedicated to each cpu. So if I switch 1 of the 1gb sticks with a 512 in the same bank spot then both cpu's will have equal amounts/type of memory.
Bank 0
3 x 512mb and 1 x 1gb slots 0 -3 respectively
Bank 1
3 x 512mb and 1 x 1gb slots 4 - 7 respectively
That's is easier and cheaper than buying two more Registered ECC 1GB sticks. I'll keep you posted on the results when I try it tonight.

that's certainly a plan to take.
i've heard reports of ecc and dual-core AND 64-bit playing
not-so-nicely together.
i think before everything you should run some stresstests from a
bootdisk and so forth. i'm not convinced it's not something hardware
as opposed to configuration.
has this been a persistent or recent problem?
