Unfortunately the application requirement is for MS SQL Server. Your database looks very cool, but I have no control over that requirement.

Do consider PIP (http://fis-pip.com /
http://sourceforge.net/projects/pip) - with GT.M, it has near real
time streaming replication, ACID transactions, etc. etc. etc.  GPL v3,
but probably moving to Affero GPL v3 on the next release.  And it's
developed right here in Malvern, PA...
