My D-Link wireless router allows for a "DMZ" machine, which is pretty
much directly connected to the internet. I presume one could then
change the firewall settings for the router to prevent the other
machines from accessing the internet. Not sure if this is what you're
looking for as you mention trying to set up squid and my solution is
strictly router-based, but perhaps it will help.
