You sort of missed my point :-)   Dell has market share, like HP, Lenovo, etc..  HP stopped supporting Linux laptops quite a while back.  And even while HP was, their quality (in my opinion considering I owned one) was substandard.

Having one of the largest distributors supporting Linux is ultimately good for Linux.
