Your message displayed OK in Windows Live Mail under Vista 64-bit Ultimate
but when I checked the source of this message, you do have html tags.  Which
version of Verizon Webmail are you using, Basic or Rich Interface?  You
might want to check your settings on their webpage mail. The source of your
