I only know a little about VNC now, but I would like to see the following in addition to extreme ease for the person being helped to run it.
Both parties agree on a password, verbally or through messenger, even email.
The viewer software (helper) asks its user for the password, encrypts it (using self contained software for more portability?), then sends it to the server (helpee). The sever software asks its user for the password, encrypts it, and compares it to the transmitted encryption from the viewer. If they match the server can continue. If not, do not allow a connection. That would remove the possibility of moving forward with an unintended connection.
