For anyone running an SSD, especially on a netbook like a Mini9, there seems to be several issues going on. https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/libatasmart/+bug/445852 devkit-disks-probe-ata-smart causes HSM Violations on SSD, and potential hardware death [Really, really long, moved to bug 574462, see below] Lucid fixed some cases: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/karmic/+source/libatasmart/+bug/445852/comments/203 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/574462 udisks-probe-ata-smart causes HSM violations [Pretty sure this one affects me on my Mini9] Other/older: HDA freezes (but recovers) under lucid beta on HP netbook https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/555451 https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/kernel-package/+bug/555787 ata loses interrupt, system freezes I'm seeing stuff like the following at 37 minutes after every other hour, mostly.
