I work in a VMware shop.  Paid stuff.  Its great for servers.

I use VirtualBox on the desktop to run test builds, or run Win only
software like TurboTax.  At work, on an Ubuntu host, I like running
VirtualBox in seamless mode to run some windows server admin tools.
