[PLUG] Old IDE drive on USB enclosure with Linux

I have an old 425MB Western Digital Caviar hard disk that mounts
perfectly fine on an old Linux box I have (internal with IDE cable).

When I put it on a usb enclosure box (disk set in Master mode), I get
the following messages in var/log/messages. I guess it cannot figure
out the size of the drive.
How would I mount it with an enclosure box? Since I am clearing out
this disk, I am not much worried about it. I am curious how I would
mount it anyway, since I have been trying to rescue an even older IDE
drive, which may have the same problem.
