Re: [PLUG] Network shares |
Rich, I do not think the problem is on the server side as I am able to connect with a windows client. Regards, Eric How about running exportfs as root from the nfs server. Perhaps your server is not actually exporting the filesystems (ie running exportfs -a). If your distro changed how this is configured that would explain a sudden change. Make sure both the client and server have NFS support built into their kernels or the appropriate modules loaded (zcat /proc/config.gz | grep NFS). NFS is unusually fussy and pretty feature-weak on top of that. I'm really amazed that nobody has come up with something better that is standardized - samba is probably the best alternative but it isn't a great fit for unix. ___________________________________________________________________________ Philadelphia Linux Users Group -- http://www.phillylinux.org Announcements - http://lists.phillylinux.org/mailman/listinfo/plug-announce General Discussion -- http://lists.phillylinux.org/mailman/listinfo/plug
