[PLUG] networking how-to

Hello,

I'm a novice when it comes to networking.
Is there a networking how-to available that explains how to connect different computers?
I have two users with MacBooks, one with Windows XP laptop (Dell) and a Linux laptop (Compaq).
I'd like to give all access to our webERP accounting on the Linux box.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
