[PLUG] lightning strike - dead computer |
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 My mom and my sister live just outside Albuquerque New Mexico and Friday they had a lighting strike. It was close enough to take out their cable router, USB Hub (probably), the Vonage box, and my sister's computer. The computer won't start - no lights at all on the tower and no response to the power-on switch. Should I try to talk her through replacing the power supply or is there enough probability of a toasted motherboard to just recommend that she go to <local computer store> and replace the entire thing? I know, too little info. Agreed. Not much I can do when I'm dealing with two nurses and zero geeks on the other end of the phone.
