I'm surprised that it changes at all. I've got a dhcp address on my comcast business account. It has changed no more than twice in 3 years. In fact, I think it only changes when the MAC address of my computer's network card (connected to the cable modem) changes. I upgraded my firewall PC (running Linux, natch) and it changed, but has not changed otherwise.
