zenmap icon has been installed to icon under apps->internet

 zenmap -> Version 5.00

 It all works for me.

Did you start zenmap from the command line?
Does it crash immediately?

try:
 zenmap -v
 zenmap -vv
 zenmap -vvv
 ... etc
or even:
 strace zenmap
(be prepared for the deluge of output)

Read the output carefully and see if there are clues.
