+10 for N++, that's my Windows (yuck) editor of choice.  Geany on Linux 
is quite similar (both use the same underlying text widget), and I 
understand that Geany can run on Windows too.  With a little work you 
can get Geany to work almost exactly like N++, which makes me happy.
