[PLUG] OT: LHC experiment |
FYI, The biggest scientific experiment ever ( a 17 mile circumference Synchrotron at CERN ) and it likely runs mostly Linux. Here are some links from a short to a full documentary. Short: http://www.networkworld.com/community/blog/when-touring-large-hadron-collider-stay-your-group TED talk: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rjS3k3upmFg Music Video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nAylbag_X1M The hunt for Higgs: (BBC documentary) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=raKN0RddL3A Notice the extensive security interlocks for personnel, not only to keep people out but to count # of entries and make sure the entire complex is clear of people when the power is turned on.
