If you can get what you need off any one of the copies, then trust me - it exists. LOL Yes, 3-2-1 is best. Most people have one copy on the server/machine, another on tape offsite. Occasionally, you have what I have - *some* of the data is also on a secondary backup disk, as well as on the offsite backup tape. But certainly not all the terrabytes we backup every day.
