Change, or view, in the VM? If all you're doing is looking, there is a
free Excel viewer from Microsoft. That might be faster.

These days, the few times I need a spreadsheet, I use Google Docs in
the cloud. But any other spreadsheet work I do now is in Excel at
work. For home I use the Google Docs spreadsheets, which isn't a large
spreadsheet.
