Slax would definitely be overkill, I should think. Not that I don't
agree with you- I use Arch on my dedicated firewalls (and OpenWRT on
my embedded stuff/wifi APs), but I enjoy having that level of control.
Might be a bit daunting of a setup for someone looking for a dedicated
routing distro. There used to be a liveCD distro specifically for
routers, and specifically intended to be run in RAM... but I can't
recall which it is now.

Fairly popular, but I doubt it supports bonding or QoS pairing of two
