That being said, try a SkipDr: http://www.amazon.com/SkipDr-Manual-Disc-Repair-System/dp/B0015ACUKC/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1414865737&sr=8-1&keywords=dvd+repair very handy things to have. they basically add a new layer of plastic onto the read side of the disc. (Most scratches are only in the clear coating protecting the data wafer; the skipping is due to the optics not being calibrated to the sudden shift in depth from the data and can't refocus in time and then refocus back etc.- assuming they're not fixed focus at all) ANYWAYS, you can, if you're VERY careful, do the same thing with clear nail polish and a completely clean, very soft cloth but i highly recommend against this- the frustration and practice it takes to get that method done right doesn't compare to the 16USD you can drop on a repair kit. -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v2 Comment: Using GnuPG with Thunderbird - http://www.enigmail.net/ iQIcBAEBCgAGBQJUVSSMAAoJEIwATC+TSB9rdYUP+wetPAL2B2Qp1hubeWYKQxdV 88ujQeovQoBumUi/+snD4l70hQv0CgROQcphMDur2Z9UTZuc6wVTnobyn1JAO57U SFW08zfWhcpbprH5m4k1J9crrhsRpA1Oast2Kjk7pud5KR2yMhvwegnkNtjtwO4z vSlYJYAAygjGiBixMYs8rv04y0yrI/7YkLB54kCu3bP5MVA+CY/1uN+15M530nJB SFWuXMD5ZtleSeEk3kqlA+Qaa56ntqFO49Uhofikab1f/MB/TLddtWn0T5ZbNJJM fgZPF2g2h1wDT4HYIdXG0Gv/HtqMIJ4Pe6lPpma3VQZG/TXtlKj83diiEk03ZpwX uUHk+cWmUl+5M9hCdynnJt3Srsw//3pSopPr1VSTtkKVCm+WJagEgoQRDN1RBWcT EWr0cQn+kHOP8fTC3JVCpIVwbxrNatSGEfWjj/sThu8YfS2XLzQXFSsJWPBTjQJi sJRHJZpiDfngtj2wn0MEOaop8lJZYH0Nc+3tTkd0766CIdUUPjgBVyB2uGDkEres D49zlHVxfx73xsQS0Y4wT2v4Q3LIJtRt8F8Hn6bylDBp3PXRh6RtCg6WYLgOPElq Y5TYKxylI12NTnrLrSWnqYrmr8AuyeugUDcI3fMI7xumnL7fWbFAykk+X8REvqp+ Z5IM5r2TSJjADq4cUFBS =YOl8 -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- ___________________________________________________________________________ Philadelphia Linux Users Group -- http://www.phillylinux.org Announcements - http://lists.phillylinux.org/mailman/listinfo/plug-announce General Discussion -- http://lists.phillylinux.org/mailman/listinfo/plug
