[PLUG] Forced FIOS upgrade? |
> think they've been trying to change things, but I believe they are still required to maintain your landline. Additionally, the Fiber Lines require a battery that is supposed to be AOK for 8 hours without power, but never is. Also, because this is your aged white-haired mother, you want COPPER which does not require a battery. They have to consider this. Because of safety issues of her age, you require 100% uptime from Verizon and "you do not want a downgrade in service" that a battery backup system could present. The 12 volt copper phone line should be what she should have. We had this battle with Verizon over a relative's 90 year old father who was still living alone, who with daily checks and visiting help coming in daily, was still independent. ___________________________________________________________________________ Philadelphia Linux Users Group -- http://www.phillylinux.org Announcements - http://lists.phillylinux.org/mailman/listinfo/plug-announce General Discussion -- http://lists.phillylinux.org/mailman/listinfo/plug
