You might want to check out the Arduino Yun. Its a small MIPS / Arduino device which is running a OpenWRT variant. Its around $70 so its more than most of the ARM boards and is really designed for IoT / maker type of work but can be used as a wireless bridge. I don't know what your current internet speeds are, and I can't predict what they will be next year or the following year, but one important thing to keep in mind about the RasPi is that the on board Network is usb based, and then you either have to vlan your traffic into that one interface for public/private or you have to add a second interface either wired or wireless that will also be usb based on the same bus. Just some things to think about, maybe someone on the list already covered. I have only been following this on and off.
