Hi, John.

I recommend going minimalist, if this isn't for yourself and not
immediately accessible for fixes.  The most minimal thing would be to
set OpenDNS DNS on the existing modem/router LAN settings tab.  Done!  I
think I may do this myself sometime soon.

I have a feeling that deploying a more complex solution will prompt much
eye-rolling when its movie night and everyone has to sit patiently while
you fiddle with the pi/ddwrt/whatever for an hour.  I've been there, and
done with that!  :D
