Major Hayden at Rackspace has written up a bunch of reviews on various laptops he’s used with Linux; from MacBooks, Dells and Lenovos. He’s gone back and forth on a few different ones, but currently using the Lenovo X1 Carbon 3rd gen:
If you just enter something like “laptop” into his blog’s search field, you’ll see his past reviews on other hardware.

On the Lenovo route, I found thinkwiki.org very helpful. If money is no object, check out
emperorlinux.com, but everything they sell can be had much cheaper.
