My personal favorite install guide: http://web.archive.org/web/20150227114135/http://www.gentoo.org/doc/en/gentoo-x86-quickinstall.xml it’s sort of been replaced by the new https://wiki.gentoo.org/wiki/Quick_Installation_Checklist The handbook is definitely the better place to start if you are an absolute beginner but the old x86 quick install does a decent job of showing the steps from start to finish.
