Thanks for the input.  CONTENT-TEXT of the header does make sense and
gives me something to chew on over the weekend.  The utility is probably
restarting an init() function on me.

As far as the application language, don't ask - - -it is not anything as
modern as PHP or Java or . . . . . ;o)
