Aaron,

I heard of Tarsnap several years ago. I was impressed when I read about it and made a note to remember it. I have yet to use it though (I haven't had a need).

It uses deduplication so it can end up being cheap. I like the fact that it's a "pay for what you use" style.

It's run/owned by a former FreeBSD security officer and the code for it is open source. He wrote a new key derivation function (scrypt) for Tarsnap.

I'd definitely trust it and wouldn't hesitate to use it if I had a need for it.
