Sidebar... what are you using for the PXE server?  Just HTTP for iPXE or are you doing it the traditional way with tftp?

iPXE ftw.

FYI, I have iPXE support built into BDisk[0]. It could be a good
jump-off platform for you to delve into it, but you can do a LOT of
crazy awesome stuff with iPXE.
