Re: [PLUG] Wanted: volunteers with bandwidth, storage, coding skills to help save climate data |
That fear shows a clear misunderstanding of the skeptics arguments. There would be no benefit in destroying that data because the skeptics do not dispute it, in fact they use that very data to make their case. The dispute is in the climate models, particularly in the magnitude of feedback and the failure to include many other factors in the models, most importantly, solar activity and cosmic radiation. Given climategate, it seems the alarmists are the ones more determined to hide evidence since they seem to be reduced to the single argument of "a consensus of scientists say...". NB: I did not vote for Trump either. Regards, Eric If you have an interest in preserving a lot of scientific research data: Scientists are frantically copying U.S. climate data, fearing it might vanish under Trump https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/energy-environment/wp/2016/12/13/scienti sts-are-frantically-copying-u-s-climate-data-fearing-it-might-vanish-under-t rump/ I've set up a mailing list to coordinate IT efforts to help out. Signup via climatedata-request@firemountain.net or, if you prefer Mailman's web interface, http://www.firemountain.net/mailman/listinfo/climatedata should work. ---rsk ___________________________________________________________________________ Philadelphia Linux Users Group -- http://www.phillylinux.org Announcements - http://lists.phillylinux.org/mailman/listinfo/plug-announce General Discussion -- http://lists.phillylinux.org/mailman/listinfo/plug ___________________________________________________________________________ Philadelphia Linux Users Group -- http://www.phillylinux.org Announcements - http://lists.phillylinux.org/mailman/listinfo/plug-announce General Discussion -- http://lists.phillylinux.org/mailman/listinfo/plug
